FAW Jiefang's JH6 boasts outstanding product performance. This week's news will introduce the JH6's capabilities from the perspective of Chinese users.

User Li Gang is the owner of an FAW Jiefang JH6 truck. The model he purchased is equipped with a Xichai Howo CA6DM3 engine, delivering a robust 460 horsepower and an impressive 2,600 N-m of torque. Thanks to this powerful combination, the JH6 effortlessly handles heavy loads on mountain roads as well as long, steep downhill stretches—providing smooth, high-speed performance with ease. The vehicle also boasts quicker starts and more responsive acceleration, ensuring stronger overall power that perfectly meets the "Ligang" vessel's operational demands.

From Guangdong to Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, and Inner Mongolia, Li Gang’s transportation route spans across China. Since he handles his own orders, each trip typically takes five days—and he relies on a steady supply of goods. He also occasionally accepts temporary orders through "Yun Manman," an app designed specifically for receiving delivery requests. To ensure timely deliveries, Li Gang usually revs up his engine on highways while carefully moderating his speed on mountain roads and in areas with challenging terrain. "On the road, we often compare engines to see if they have enough power," Li Gang explains, peering closely at the trucks ahead. "As we approach Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan, the mountainous landscapes become especially rugged, with steep inclines and long, winding descents being commonplace. The Aowei engine, with its robust 460 horsepower, offers both nimble starts and impressive acceleration—especially when tackling those daunting uphill climbs. Even without shifting gears, it effortlessly outpaces other vehicles." Within Li Gang’s circle of truck drivers, FAW trucks equipped with this powerful engine are widely regarded as ideal for navigating the tough terrains of Yunnan, Guizhou, and Sichuan, thanks to their exceptional performance and reliability.

JH6 solved the most "tricky" challenges, including overloading, mountain roads, and long-distance transportation. The engine has logged nearly 600,000 kilometers without major overhaul.

Li Gang drives a FAW truck product, and his friends have also chosen FAW trucks. In his trucking circle, everyone drives FAW trucks—and together, they’re making good money. "In Northeast China, you’ll see people on the streets all driving FAW trucks. You simply don’t spot any other brands. That’s exactly how we feel about FAW trucks, and why we deeply trust and support the FAW truck brand."

In an era of cost reduction and efficiency enhancement in transportation, analysis of the total cost of truck ownership reveals that fuel expenses and road tolls account for more than 60% of the total costs over the vehicle’s entire lifecycle. Among these, fuel consumption costs make up a significant portion. Consequently, fuel efficiency has consistently remained a key concern for end-users.

In terms of logistics transportation costs, we should both increase revenue and cut expenses. Fuel consumption is the top priority. "Unlike express delivery, we transport ordinary goods, so our schedule isn’t particularly tight. That’s why whether a single trip turns a profit depends entirely on how much fuel you can save." Li Gang pays special attention to his truck’s fuel efficiency, often comparing it with the fuel consumption of his friends’ trucks.

His FAW Jiefang JH6 is equipped with the Aowei CA6DM3 engine. It is understood that this engine features advanced combustion-control technology and is fitted with an overhead camshaft and four valves per cylinder. As a result, the intake and exhaust systems in the combustion chamber operate more efficiently, leading to more complete fuel combustion and greater power output. This design achieves both low fuel consumption and high performance.

Meanwhile, Aowei engines feature a dual-water-jacket cylinder head and a high-strength engine block design, fully meeting the demands of ultra-high-pressure combustion exceeding 220 bar, thereby achieving superior fuel efficiency. In addition, the vehicle’s powertrain simulation software can calculate, analyze, and optimize the matching of its fuel injection and air systems. This effortlessly enables optimal powertrain integration, further enhancing the overall fuel economy of vehicles equipped with FAW Truck’s Aowei CA6DM3 engine.

With this "standard benchmark," his fuel consumption was noticeably lower than other truck drivers. "I compared my truck with my friend's. The rated fuel consumption of FAW Jiefang JH6 typically hovers around 30 liters on mountain roads, dropping as low as 29 liters in some cases. Meanwhile, my friends' trucks averaged 31 to 32 liters. As a result, my monthly fuel costs are about 2,000 yuan lower than theirs—significantly cutting down our transportation expenses." Li Gang highly praised the fuel efficiency of the FAW Jiefang JH6.

When driving, Li Gang also has his own little tricks. "Adjust your speed promptly based on the road conditions ahead—avoid sudden acceleration. Try not to change lanes while driving. Maintain a steady, straight pace and find the most fuel-efficient speed that suits you best. And don’t forget to regularly maintain your engine; don’t wait until the last minute. Early maintenance will significantly extend the engine’s lifespan." Drawing on his experience driving the JH6, he participated in the 2020 FAW Truck Connected Vehicle Fuel Efficiency Challenge, where he stood out among 100,000 competitors, ultimately earning an impressive second-place finish in the J7-13L engine category. His vehicle achieved a fuel consumption of less than 27 liters per 100 kilometers.

In addition to FAW truck powertrain fuel efficiency, the AWEE CA6DM3’s core technologies—including its 1.8-million-kilometer long-life design, 100,000-kilometer oil-change technology, 2,000-bar electronically controlled high-pressure common-rail system, low-friction technology, high-power engine braking technology, advanced low-NVH solutions, and lightweight design—have collectively delivered greater value to Li Gang’s operations while significantly reducing long-term maintenance costs.

"I plan to trade in for a new truck by the end of this year!" When asked about his choice of a new truck, Li Gang didn’t hesitate—once again, he opted for a FAW truck. "The engine and features of this truck perfectly meet my needs. FAW trucks truly are money-making machines!"
